The new battery is discharged and must be recharged before use (consult your medical device for recharging instructions). Upon first use (or after extended storage), the battery may require two to three charge/discharge cycles to reach full capacity.
When charging the battery for the first time, the medical device may indicate that the charge is complete after 10 or 15 minutes. This is normal for rechargeable batteries. Simply remove the PHiliphh ME202C battery from the medical device and repeat the charging procedure.
It is very important to service (fully discharge and then fully recharge) the battery every two to three weeks. Otherwise, the life of the battery can be significantly reduced (this does not apply to Li-ion batteries that do not require treatment). To unlock, simply run the device on battery power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then charge the battery according to the instructions in the user manual.
If the battery has not been used for a month or more, it can be removed from the machine and stored in a cool, dry and clean place. It is normal for the replacement battery to feel warm during charging and discharging.
Charged replacement batteries will lose their charge if not used. It may be necessary to charge the battery after the storage period.
